Victorian Herne Bay

HBP6

Written by Mike Bundock. This illustrated history provides a flavour of what the town was like during its formative years in the 19th century. The population of the town more than doubled during the Victorian era largely as a result of improved transport facilities – initially the paddle-steamer and subsequently the arrival of the railway.
